It’s officially football season in Kentucky. Around here, that means Saturdays spent watching college football, Sundays watching the pros, and plenty of conversations about play calls, starting lineups, and whether this is finally going to be “our year.”

And with Kentucky firmly rooted in SEC and ACC country, all that football has us thinking… the KBB booking team isn’t all that different from a football team. Everyone has a position. Everyone has a job to do. And when the whole team executes the game plan, the result is an unforgettable day in Bourbon Country.

So, meet the KBB starting lineup:

Quarterback: Abigail (The Play Caller)

Abigail runs the show, makes the big decisions, and keeps everyone moving toward the goal line. In addition to the booking team, she helps manage our driver team – coordinating assignments and schedules, keeping processes and documentation organized, and serving as the link between the people planning your tour and the people behind the wheel.

She’s our starting QB, and just like any team with a franchise quarterback, the rest of us panic a little when Abigail is out.

Running Back: Scott (The Closer)

Give Scott the ball and let him run. He specializes in taking a guest from “We’re just looking…” to BOOKED. Fast, efficient, and always finding an opening.

Legend has it, Scott once talked a wall into booking a bourbon tour with us. We believe it.

Wide Receiver: Jessica (The Connector)

Guests, guides, distilleries, restaurants, the booking team…Jess keeps everyone connected and makes sure the details get where they need to go.

She crosses every T, dots every I, and, in football terms, knows her X’s and O’s. 

Tight End: Kaitlin (The Utility Player)

Need someone to jump into a different position at a moment’s notice? Put Kaitlin in.

She’s our utility player, ready to tackle just about anything, and dangerously qualified to take everyone else’s position.

Offensive Line: Tyler (The Backbone)

The offensive line doesn’t always get the glory, but nothing works without it.

Tyler quietly does the heavy lifting behind the scenes, keeping all the details of our daily tours moving. You might not be aware of everything Tyler is doing – but if he isn’t there, trust us, you’ll notice.

Defense: Rob (The Problem Solver)

Sold-out distillery? Reservation issue? Last-minute change? It’s Rob’s time to shine.

He’s calm under pressure and remarkably good at stopping a small problem before it becomes a big one. Even the best game plan occasionally needs an audible, and Rob’s the man for the job.

Special Teams: Megan (The Wild Card)

Megan can do a little bit of everything – talking with guests, managing inquiries, building itineraries, and, most importantly, converting interest into booked tours. Which makes Special Teams pretty fitting: whether it’s a two-point conversion on the field or a sales conversion on the phones, Megan knows how to put points on the board.

Fun Fact: Megan owns several chickens, which means there’s always a chance you’ll hear one of her feathered coworkers in the background while she’s on the phone booking your tour.

Like we said: the wild card.

Offensive Coordinator: Lauren (The Lunch Play Caller)

You can’t execute the game plan on an empty stomach.

Lauren makes the lunch reservations, calls the plays, and keeps guests from getting hangry on the Trail. She’s even learned every driver’s favorite meal by heart.

Forget the playbook. Lauren has the menu.

Head Coach: Rachel (The Team Leader)

Rachel calls the shots, keeps everyone focused, and somehow remains calm while managing the entire operation.

At any given moment, she has approximately 47 tabs open on her laptop and another 47 in her head.

We don’t know how she does it. We’re afraid to ask.

The Franchise Owner: Tim (The OG)

Before there was a full KBB roster, Tim started Kentucky Bourbon Boys with his family (and at one point, he was most of the roster.)

Booking, phones, sales, driver management…chances are he’s played the position. Today, he jumps back onto the field wherever he’s needed and watches the team he built continue to grow – while reminding everyone he built the roster.

We’d expect nothing less from the owner.

Jokes aside, there’s a lot happening behind every KBB tour – reservations, transportation, timing, restaurants, distilleries, guides, last-minute changes, and plenty more our guests never have to think about. And that’s exactly how we like it.
